Blaze
Twelve-year-old Blaze is raised by her caring father Luke. When she is the sole witness to a woman being violently attacked, she is faced with conflicting emotions of debilitating fear and a desire for justice.
As she spirals uncontrollably, Luke does his best to help his daughter through this crisis, but to little effect. She is left catatonic with shock. Struggling to make sense of what she saw, she retreats into imaginary worlds, where the shimmering magic dragon who has been her companion since childhood, allows her to activate her own rage and ultimately find renewal.
Acclaimed Australian artist Del Kathryn Barton makes her stunning feature debut, combining live action, puppetry and animation. This is an ode to female courage and a celebration of the power of the imagination.
