Macabre
In the 1990’s, two brothers are accused of murdering eight women, a man, and a child in a brutal manner in the region of Serra dos Órgãos, part of the district of Rio de Janeiro. In pursuit of the suspects, Sergeant Téo realizes that the media trial, and the judgment of both the police and the local society, are fundamentally racist, and begins to doubt the conviction of one of the brothers.
Based on a true story, the film is a work of fiction inspired by the famous case of the “necrophiliac brothers”, considered one of the longest and most difficult operations of the BOPE (Battalion of Special Police Operations).
Director Marcos Prado had access to details about the story in 2009 while producing José Padilha’s two “Elite Squad” (2007, 2010) films.
