When Mel Brooks, Ed Wood and South Park had a naughty baby!
This outrageous horror-comedy Vampire Zombies...From Space! from Canadian director Mike Stasko began its international run late last year and has now been screened at more than 30 horror film festivals to great acclaim.
In a stylish black-and-white film full of over-the-top jokes, Dracula, a space-faring maniac, hatches a plan to turn the inhabitants of a small town into his own personal army of vampire zombies and take over the world.
Described by Mike Stasko himself as a hilarious 1950s drive-in horror satire, the film is inspired by classics from the same era such as The Lion, Plan 9 from Outer Space and Forbidden Planet.
In a letter to the HÕFF, he apologises for not being able to come to Haapsalu due to the long distance and his busy schedule, and asks Sander Maran (dir. of Chainsaws Were Singing ) introduce his film. "Sander is a big fan of my film and vice versa - I am a fan of his film," he writes.
The Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, will take place from 1-3 May.
A limited number of festival tickets are already ON SALE. The full programme will be announced and tickets go on sale on 10 April.
The festival is presented by the City of Haapsalu and Elisa.
