Sisu
Set in 1944, "Sisu" tells the story of an ex-soldier Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila), who discovers gold in the deep wilderness of Finland. On his way into the city, brutal Nazis on a scorched-earth mission discovers his treasure trove. The relentless soldier must go through outrageous lengths to get his loot home, even if it means killing every last Nazi.
"SISU is a Finnish word that cannot be translated. It means a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination. SISU manifests itself when all hope is lost.”
Before the screening, there will be a charity auction of exclusive items from Estonian and international films. The festival will donate the proceeds to Estonian Rescue Association for purchasing needed gear for the rescuers. The auction will be hosted by Mart Sander.
