Stopmotion
Ella Blake (Aisling Franciosion) is a stop-motion animator who is struggling to control her demons after the loss of her overbearing mother. Suddenly alone in the world, she embarks upon the creation of a macabre new puppet film, which soon becomes the battleground for her sanity. As Ella’s mind starts to fracture, the characters in her animated film take on a terrifying life of their own, and the unleashed power of her imagination threatens to destroy her.
Stopmotion won a Special Jury Prize at the Catalonian International Film Festival at Sitges, and the Best Director Award at Fantastic Fest in last year.
Before the screening, there will be a charity auction in support of Ukraine, where exclusive items related to Estonian and world cinema will be up for bid. The festival donates the proceeds of the auction to the Estonian Rescue Association. Since the beginning of the war, the Estonian Rescue Association has used donations to support the Ukrainian rescue workers with rescue equipment based on needs listed by the Rescue Service of Ukraine. The auction will be hosted by Mart Sander. The length of the auction is approximately 40 minutes.
