Brothers Grimm meet the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, as Indiwire described Honeydew, the newest addition to this year's HÕFF programme.

The debut film of Devereux Milburn tells the story of a young couple (played by Sawyer Spielberg and Malin Barr) who are forced to seek shelter in the home of an aging farmer (Barbara Kingsley) and her peculiar son, when they suddenly begin having strange cravings and hallucinations taking them down a rabbit hole of the bizarre.

Following the traditions of the best German horror, Michael Venus' psychological horror thriller Sleep sees Marlene (Sandra Hüller), a woman plagued by horrific dreams, suffering a breakdown in a remote village. As her daughter Mona follows, she comes upon a well-kept family secret and an old curse that ultimately threatens her life - a never-ending nightmare.

The 16th HÕFF takes place from June 4-6. The biggest genre film festival in the Baltics will be broadcast all over Estonia, with some of the programme in the PÖFF online web cinema. The full programme will be announced on the 6th of May when ticket sales begin.
